One of the most recognized dive sites on the island of Bonaire is "1000 Steps", named for the (actually about 70) stairs down form the cliff overlooking the beach. It is a beautiful place to dive or snorkel, but its notoriety doesn't really come from being a significantly better site than the others up and down the cost. It's well known because the steps make it clearly recognizable compared to the dozens of other shore dive locations the island has to offer.
